Scotland vs Morocco Predicted Lineups and Team News

Arun - June 19, 2026

Scotland and Morocco meet at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough on Friday in a Group C match with enormous stakes for both sides. Scotland top the group on three points after grinding out a 1-0 win over Haiti, while Morocco sit a point behind after a 1-1 draw with Brazil.

A Scotland win here would put them on the verge of the knockout rounds for the first time in their history but be assured Morocco has other plans. You can read it all in Our Scotland vs Morocco prediction with full breakdown and reasoning.

Scotland Team News

Steve Clarke has no injury concerns heading into this match. Scotland came through the Haiti game with a clean bill of health, and Scott McKenna, who had missed a training session during the week with a calf issue, was back in full training by the final session before the game.

Clarke is expected to stick with the 4-4-2 that earned the win over Haiti, with no changes forced upon him.

Angus Gunn continues in goal while captain Andrew Robertson slots in at left-back, with Aaron Hickey at right-back and the centre-back partnership of Grant Hanley and Jack Hendry unchanged.

In midfield, Scott McTominay and Lewis Ferguson provide the engine, with John McGinn and Ben Gannon-Doak operating from wide positions. McGinn scored the only goal against Haiti and is Scotland’s primary set-piece threat alongside Robertson.

Lawrence Shankland and Che Adams continue up front, though both struggled to make an impact against Haiti. Ryan Christie is the main option off the bench if Clarke wants to add an extra body in midfield.

Billy Gilmour remains the only absentee, having been ruled out before the tournament with injury, with Tyler Fletcher in the squad as his replacement.

Morocco Team News

Morocco head coach Mohamed Ouahbi has no fresh injury concerns after the Brazil draw and is expected to name an unchanged starting eleven.

The two absentees confirmed before the tournament remain out: Nayef Aguerd has been ruled out, while Abde Ezzalzouli withdrew from the squad with a knee problem. Marwane Saadane and Amine Sbai were called up as cover.

Yassine Bounou continues in goal and he is certified fit after subjected to various knocks and blows during the Brazil opener.

Achraf Hakimi is fit and starts as captain at right-back, with Noussair Mazraoui on the left. Issa Diop partners Chadi Riad in central defence following Aguerd’s withdrawal.

The midfield trio of Ayyoub Bouaddi, Neil El Aynaoui and Azzedine Ounahi is retained after an impressive performance against Brazil. Bouaddi, who switched allegiance from France under-21s to Morocco as recently as May, was one of the standout players in the opener.

Ismael Saibari leads the attack after scoring against Brazil. The PSV forward is set to join Bayern Munich this summer and carries Morocco’s primary goal threat. Brahim Diaz of Real Madrid and Bilal El Khannouss support from wide. For all our World Cup 2026 tips and predictions throughout the tournament, head to the hub.
