Roma will try to annul a one-goal deficit in the UEFA Europa League quarterfinal on Thursday evening when they take on Feyenoord in the second leg fixture at Stadio Olimpico.
Jose Mourinho and his men were certainly disappointed after the first leg that could have easily gone the other way had Lorenzo Pelegrini converted his 43rd minute penalty-kick.
Interestingly, the penalty king was given away by Mats Wieffer who later proved out to be the difference maker between the two teams as his second-half strike represented the only goal of the game.
Feyenoord knew how to keep things quiet at the back by the end of the match in Rotterdam as both teams finished the game with two shots on target.
Roma have generally been struggling for goals lately and Feyenoord might just be able to close this tie by parking the bus in the return leg as well.
All but one of the previous five outings Roma played finished with one or fewer goals scored, including the goalless draw at Real Sociedad in the second leg of the last 16 round on Spanish soil.
Feyenoord have by no means been impressive defensively of late but we really like the way in which Arne Slot’s men dealt with the Romans seven days ago. Can they do it again on Thursday?
