Nantes and Reims are set for an intriguing clash in the 2024/25 Ligue 1 season. Reims began their campaign with a tough start, suffering a defeat with ten men in their first game and conceding in their second. 

However, Luka Elser’s side bounced back, securing a win in their third match after coming from behind. This victory marked Reims’ first Ligue 1 win within the first four matches for the second time in five seasons. Despite finishing ninth last season, they aim to improve early in this campaign, having experienced a mixed bag of results so far.

Reims have struggled defensively, keeping just one clean sheet in their last 22 away games in Ligue 1. They endured two consecutive 0-1 defeats in their opening rounds and have conceded five goals while scoring four in their first three games. They will look to tighten up their defence and stabilize their form going forward.

Moses Simon, returning from injury, has been a standout performer for Nantes and indeed his national team, Nigeria. He will be expected to make a significant impact in this fixture.

The hosts come into this match in high spirits, remaining unbeaten with two wins and a draw in their opening three games. Reims, meanwhile, have recorded one win, one draw, and one loss. 

Despite their recent struggles, Reims have a slight edge in their head-to-head record, winning three of their last five encounters. However, these matches have generally been low-scoring affairs.

The last time both teams met earlier this year, it ended in a goalless affair. 

Given both teams’ form, this encounter is likely to be a tight one, and we predict both teams will score, with over 2.5 goals in total, and Moses Simon to score or assist any time.
