Wolves vs Olympiacos
Date: Thursday, 6 August 2020
Kick-off at 20:00 UK/ 21:00 CET
Venue: Molineux Stadium.
The Wanderers tried their very best to qualify for the next edition of the Europa, but had to settle for the 7th spot on the very last match-day of the league, and thus finished just outside of the European cut-off.
This definitely should fire them to go after a deep run in this year’s Europa, and if possible even the title – as it would provide them an entry into the Champions League, an even better prize. For a team that’s been such an inspiring presence in the Premier League, it would be a fairytale.
However, Thrylos will stand in their way. The first leg had ended in a draw, and had given a scare for the English contingent. However, the guests were able to slot in a valuable away goal, and this massively tips scales in their favor.
Considering that Nuno Espirito Santo’s men come from the best league in Europe, and that they have the away goal along with the fact that they are desperate and hurt – it’s assumed that the Wolves will progress to the next round.

- Only once have these two teams locked horns, and it was the first leg of this tie. Then, spoils were shared with a 1-1 scoreline.
Wolves vs Olympiacos: Prediction
The reverse fixture had ended in a 1-1 draw. The first half was a bit incidental, despite having no goals, as the hosts were reduced to ten on the pitch after Ruben Semedo was shown a straight red card for a rough tackle.
While the visitors should have made much better use of their numerical advantage, they had to settle for an away goal. But, come the second leg, it could prove to be a game-changer.
The reason being, Santo’s men could afford to play it safe and defend well, while their counterparts would be forced to go after a goal.
Moreover and most importantly, the Wanderers are from the most competitive league in the continent. This was literally in display, as even the race to qualify for Europe was one of the best series of games between the teams in the PL.
They are much more well-versed with pressure and must-win games, and routinely take on some of the best teams in the world.
These factors suggest that Wolves should manage to secure a ticket to the Quarters. And going on, towards the end of the game, the Greeks will be desperate and will go after goals abandoning their defense, which Santo’s men should make us of to slot in a goal, and seal the tie.
