It’s that time of the year again when transfer speculation is rife and the rumour mill goes into overdrive. A player that has been the focus of numerous transfer stories over the years, particularly after attempting to engineer a move to Manchester City in the past, Harry Kane looks like he could finally be departing Tottenham Hotspur after another forgettable campaign for the North London club.
While Spurs fans will understandably be hoping that their star man decides to stay for at least another season, Kane will surely have a decision to make in the coming weeks and months ahead. In the past, the lure of challenging for the biggest competitions available at Manchester City appealed. Let’s not forget that the Citizens are a dominant force, with many people backing them when assessing the Man City v Inter Milan odds and the fantastic form they’re currently in after winning both the Premier League and the FA Cup. Kane, somewhat understandably, wanted a taste of City’s continual success previously.
Although Kane’s loyalty to the Spurs cause and his desire to beat Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record is admirable, the opportunity to challenge for major silverware at a European behemoth will surely be hard to resist.
Kane could remain a Spurs player and hope for a top-five finish in the Premier League next season or depart Spurs, shine in Europe for a superpower, and dominate the discussion when it comes to picking the top scorer in the Champions League betting stakes. Given the mess that has unfolded at Spurs this season, coupled with the fact that the Walthamstow-born striker isn’t getting any younger, Kane could easily have his head turned once again.
The England captain’s goalscoring prowess is clear for all to see. Given Karim Benzema’s recent news that he’ll be departing the Bernabeu after 14 years at the club, Harry Kane could be seen as the ideal replacement for the legendary Frenchman.

Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez, isn’t afraid to splash the cash either, particularly given his club’s failure to win La Liga, coupled with the dismantling they faced at the hands of Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final.
Given Real Madrid’s history of adding marquee signings in summer transfer windows, Harry Kane could easily be on their list, and not many players, like Steve McManaman, Michael Owen, and David Beckham before him, can turn down the Spanish giants.
It’s no secret that Manchester United need a striker, although Daniel Levy’s apparent reluctance to sell his prized asset to an English rival could make any move a tough one to finalise for United’s hierarchy, whoever they might be.
Should Kane stamp his feet and demand a Spurs exit, though, then a move to the red side of Manchester could certainly materialise. After all, signing for the Red Devils would mean he can stay in England, potentially challenge for the Premier League and the Champions League, while also enabling him to keep his dream of beating Shearer’s record alive.
While it’s unclear where Harry Kane will end up, one thing’s for sure, it looks like he’s finally going to leave Spurs this summer.
