Wales vs Spain
Date: Thursday, 11th October 2018
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Principality Stadium, Cardiff.
A blockbuster friendly is on the cards as Wales take on the former World Champions in their home turf.
The Dragons are 21st in the latest FIFA rankings and are looking moderate under the great Ryan Giggs. The Manchester United legend has to prepare his team for the UNL after the shocking defeat in the hands of Denmark.
The Welsh will be aware of the firepower of the La Furia Roja. Bale and Company would not want a thrashing from Spain relative to what happened to Argentina and Croatia recently.
Giggs may want his defense and midfield to prevent the flow of passes from the Spanish midfield to their box.
Getting the ball off Spain may look like a herculean task for the welsh team. As always the Isco and Busquets will dominate the midfield. For the duty of scoring goals Asensio and Rodrigo will be competing against each other.
In their recent UNL meeting with Croatia, Asensio scored one goal and assisted for 3 goals. Everybody had a pop at goal and the game ended 6-0, the worst start for Croatia after reaching the final of the World Cup at Russia.
Wales vs Spain Head to head
The teams are meeting for the first time in a competitive match since 1985.
Spain are unbeaten in the four meetings against Wales between the 1960 to 1985 with three wins and a draw.
Wales vs Spain Prediction
Spain will be wishing to repeat their winning run and make sure Wales don’t take advantage of their problems. They haven’t been tested at defensive duty lately.
Ryan Giggs would want this match to rate where they are right now. Following the defeat to Denmark they have to keep their heads high.
Even though it’s a friendly both teams will have their best players on the pitch and maybe the coaches will give chances to young bloods as well.
With their goal scoring frenzy Spain will score and if Welsh defense doesn’t have the grit to prevent it, the Dragons will be slayed without mercy.
