In the first-leg clash of the Champions League Qualifiers first round, Vikingur are going to host Finnish champions HJK.
The hosts are enjoying a streak of four straight victories and although they are sitting on the 3rd place of the national championship, they are 11 points behind the top placed HB Torshavn.
Sigfirdhur Clementsen’s side hasn’t been too productive until the last four rounds when they’ve improved their finishing.
Vikingur haven’t been too confident when playing in front of the home crowd as they suffered three defeats in eight matches played at home pitch.
HJK are also in the middle of the domestic season, but they are enjoying a much more successful campaign than their rivals.
The visitors are on their way of defending the title as they are even points ahead of the closest rivals, however HJK played one game more.
Klauss and the lads have been pretty productive so far in the season while their defending in one of the best in the league.
They have been putting excellent performances when playing away from home, however in the last three outings they snatched just two points.

Vikingur and HJK will face each other for the first time. The hosts played once against Finnish side and eliminated FC Inter from the First round of Europa League Qualifiers, while HJK were very confident against B71 Sandur in Cup Winners’ Cup 24 years ago.

This one is going to be a very tight clash, but the visitors should be slight favourites in the first-leg. Although the hosts improved their game lately, HJK are looking more confident and they should be able to secure the advantage from the trip to Faroe Islands.
Although both sides have been pretty productive lately, in this one we shouldn’t expect too many goals as these two teams will be looking forward to play more disciplined game, without taking too much risk. The crowd shouldn’t be able to see more than two goals in this one.
