Adolfo Sormani led Vejle to the silverware in the previous term of 1st Division, the title which returned the Reds to the elite class of the Danish football after a nine-year break. Vejle are set for the first top flight fixture in nine years on Friday when they will play host to Hobro.

The tie certainly allows the hosts to get off to the victorious kick off to the campaign given the opposition’s strength. Hobro featured the Relegation Round in the previous Superligaen season and they are not expected to challenge the top six spots in the new campaign either.

Neither of the two sides will come into the game high on confidence after poor results in pre-season friendlies. Both teams lost two and drew one of three outings proving pout to be fairly easy to break down in the process.

The two outfits are about to take on each other for the landmark 10th time on Friday.
Hobro have a positive record in H2H affairs as they won four, drew three and lost only two of nine meetings with Vejle over the course of history.
Teams played each other in the second tier of the Danish football two seasons ago.
Hobro won two and drew one of last three games against Vejle.

Vejle vs Hobro: Prediction

Vejle had somewhat stronger rivals in the preparations period. They drew 2-2 to Swedish Ostersunds before losing just narrowly to German Eintracht Braunschweig.

The team led by the Italian manager Adolfo Sormani was generally very tough to beat in front of the home crowd last season in 1st Division and we do find them as slight favourites to get off to the victorious kick off to the campaign here against Hobro.

The visitors conceded as many as five goals in last two tests against the likes of Viborg and Vendsyssel, which is why we also find the value in backing Vejle to score two or more goals at the odds of 2.50 here.
