Valencia vs Chelsea Prediction
Valencia are unbeaten in their last two clashes in Group H, and are currently in contention for the top spot along with Ajax and Chelsea.
The hosts are on an impressive form back in the La Liga as well and have not featured at the losing end in any of their past three games on home soil either.
Their previous matchup here, in particular, saw them post a convincing 2-0 win over Granada, with both Daniel Wass and Ferran Torres putting the hosts ahead.
On the other hand, Chelsea are on a positive streak of their own at the moment. The visitors have not admitted defeat in any of their previous ten games in all competitions. They have also looked sharp in their outings so far and have picked up the win in all of their past seven trips, the last of which was a 2-1 victory over Watford.
Furthermore, Frank Lampard’s men are not the same side that they were, at the start of the season. The squad have finally hit the ground running, especially in their clashes away from home.
Nevertheless, given that Valencia have stumbled just once at Estadio de Mestalla this campaign, the safest punt in this one would have to be a double chance backing the Blues.
Additionally, Chelsea’s frontline have been causing all sorts of trouble in the final third. Especially the in-form Tammy Abraham who has been right in the thick of things.
Christian Pulisic has also been a boon for the English outfit, although his presence is, at present, doubtful owing to a hip injury.
Regardless, the visiting contingent are sure to be keen on racking up the goals tally in this one. Valencia are also likely to chip in to the scoreboards. Primarily because Chelsea have not kept a clean sheet in their previous three visits to this venue.
Given that the hosts managed to bag a goal in the reverse fixture of this matchup as well, count on both sides to find the back of the net come Wednesday.
