Ural vs Anzhi Makhachkala
Russian Premier League
Date: Saturday, 28 July 2018
Kick-Off at 14:30 UK
Venue: Ekaterinburg Arena (Ekaterinburg)

Anzhi Makhachkala have struggled to retain consistency through the pre-season and they travel to Ekaterinburg as they open the new campaign at Ural after earning just one win in four games, with two draws and a single loss also on the records. They’ve struggled to score goals recently and this could come as even more of a worry for Magomed Adiev, as the home side have proven themselves as a tough side to beat in front of the home crowd.

Ural have had a better spell of results through late June and early July, as they beat Mura, Cukaricki, and Yenisey, before suffering a 2-1 loss to Vojvodina and seeing the three-game winning streak ended at Stadion Karađorde in Novi Sad.

Uraltsy have proven themselves as a very tough side to beat here through most part of the Premier League campaign last year, but they’ll want a better start this time around – as Dmytro Parfenov will be well aware how important early consistency comes. They’ve been rock-solid at the back recently and we do expect them in top shape on the day as well.

Ural vs Anzhi Makhachkala: Head-to-head

Ural have beaten the rivals in all of their last three head-to-head matchups, last snatching a 0-1 win in Makhachkala in April.

Ural have bagged six wins and a draw in ten home clashes against the rivals so far.

Anzhi have last beaten the rivals in September 2016 but have struggled to put on similar displays more recently.

Ural vs Anzhi Makhachkala: Prediction

We will now back Ural to build on such records and bag a narrow home win on the day too, as we back them to win to Nil at an eye-catching 2.37. They have been tough to score against and we do see them setting up a tough defensive line on the day as well.

With that in mind, we expect few goals on the day as well and we will also back Under 2.5 goals FT at 1.66, which does feel more like a banker bet at this point and has caught attention with many big hitters already.

Ural vs Anzhi Makhachkala: Bet Tips

  • Ural to win to Nil @ 2.37
  • Under 2.5 goals FT @ 1.66.
