Ukraine vs Switzerland
UEFA Nations League A
Date: Thursday, 3 September 2020
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
Venue: Arena Lviv.
Both these teams had topped their respective groups in the recently-concluded Euro Qualifiers. However, Andriy Shevchenko’s men really made an impact in the competition, after they remained unbeaten throughout.
In fact, despite having the likes of Serbia and reigning champions Portugal, the Yellow and Blue recorded six wins and two draws from their total eight match-ups. And impressively, they had won all of their fixtures at home in the process.
Meanwhile, the Red Crosses overcame tough competition from the likes of Denmark and Republic of Ireland to take the pole position in Group D in the qualifiers.
Suffice it to say that either are up for the challenge this Thursday.
Another dynamics to be considered before this match-up is that – these two teams come from the same group that includes Spain and Germany. In short, in order to secure the top-most spot (to progress to the finals), a phenomenal display would be needed.
Luckily for both these squads, their opener is not against either of the two titans in the A4 Group. And the winner of this upcoming encounter will have huge momentum going forward, while the loser will be effectively out of contention to become toppers.
As such, expect a fierce encounter this Thursday. Moreover, considering the competitive nature of the two sides, expect either to find the back of the net as well.

Ukraine vs Switzerland: Prediction
As mentioned earlier, both teams had topped their respective groups in the Euro qualifiers, and are no strangers to high-pressure situations, or challenges. Furthermore, after spectacular displays in recent games, confidence and momentum is at a high level as well.
In fact, Shevchenko’s men had scored two or more goals in seven of their last nine overall matches, while their counterparts are on a three-game winning run, and had scored six goals in their latest fixture alone.
On top of that, the Red Crosses had made it to the semi-finals in the previous edition of the Nations League, where they were defeated by eventual champions, Portugal.
Likely, considering the form of both squads, expect goals from both team this Thursday.
However, the Yellow and Blue have simply been spectacular lately, and especially so at home. To put it precisely, they were unbeaten in 20 of their preceding 21 overall matches, and had a 100% winning record in games at home in the Euro Qualifiers.
In fact, in the process, they also had defeated Portugal with a 2-1 scoreline, and this single goal was the only one they conceded in front of the home crowd all through the tournament.
For the reasons, expect Ukraine to avoid a loss at the very least this Thursday.
