Uganda vs Zimbabwe
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Wednesday, 26th June 2019
Kick off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Cairo International Stadium (Cairo).
Uganda got off to an optimistic start in their opening match against DR Congo, after managing to score two goals in the ninety minutes while conceding none. It took just a little over fourteen minutes for Sebastien Desabre’s side to take the lead in that match, after Patrick Kaddu made no mistake in heading the ball into the back of the net off a corner kick.
The squad started the second half really strongly and managed to double the lead three minutes from the restart. Emmanuel Okwi was the man of the moment this time, with the striker guiding the ball past the keeper with a powerful header.
Their counterparts got off to a losing start in their opening group fixture and could not taste success against the tournament hosts Egypt. The latter were definitely the more threatening side in that encounter, with the final scoreline reading 1-0 at the end of the ninety minutes.
The Zimbabwe keeper Edmore Sibanda was in fine form, managing to make eight saves from the sixteen attempts that were made at goal.
A win would certainly boost Uganda’s chances of progressing past the group stage, especially with Egypt being their opponents in the next round.
Sunday Chidzambwa’s side, on the other hand, will be up against DR Congo in their final group stage match.

Uganda vs Zimbabwe Prediction
The second round of group fixtures between Uganda and Zimbabwe is likely to see the latter succumb to their second straight defeat in their campaign.
Sebastien Desabre’s men are currently on a two-match winning streak, with their latest win coming in their opening match against DR Congo. His side have managed to find the back of the net thrice and have also recorded back to back clean sheets in the process.
With the squad certainly looking sound in both attack and defense, their counterparts are unlikely to be the ones to break the deadlock on Wednesday.
Both the teams have been scoring under 2.5 goals in their last three matches, so a high scoring game between them is also far from likely.
Uganda certainly look favorites to come out on top, but by not more than a slender margin.
