Uganda vs Senegal
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Friday, 5 July 2019
Kick off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Cairo International Stadium (Cairo).
A narrow loss against group members Algeria, in the second round of group fixtures, was enough to consign Senegal to a second place finish in the table and to set up a round of sixteen clash with Uganda.
The squad certainly bounced back in fashion from their loss and posted a comfortable win past Kenya in their final group fixture by a 3-0 scoreline. Skipper Sadio Mane bagged a brace and would have completed a hat-trick if he hadn’t been denied from the spot by the goalkeeper in the first half.
His side finished the game with more time on the ball than their counterparts and managed sixteen attempts at goal, ten of which were on target.
Uganda, on the other hand, managed just one win in their group stage clashes and finished second in the table with four points. The squad will be coming into the round of sixteen fixture on the back of a 2-0 defeat, which they suffered at the hands of hosts Egypt, in their final group game.
The victors of the clash will be booking a quarterfinal meeting against the winners of the round of sixteen clash between Morocco and Benin.

Uganda vs Senegal Prediction
Senegal are poised to take the win and the ticket to the quarterfinals when they clash against Uganda on Friday in the round of sixteen.
Sadio Mane and his boys have scored a total of five goals in their last three games and have conceded just one in the process. With two cleans sheets also to their name, there should be very little doubt about the team’s expertise up front and at the back.
Uganda have been inconsistent in the group stages. They started off with a win, were held to a draw in the next, and finally succumbed to a loss in the final game. The squad have also conceded as many goals as they have scored and have just one clean sheet to showcase as their own.
They certainly were wasteful of their opportunities against Egypt and are unlikely to see as many coming their way in the game on Friday.
We can certainly expect the foes to take the win and the clean sheet at the end of the ninety minutes.
