The hosts have certainly not been letting their fans down in their African Cup of Nations campaign and are currently positioned as table toppers in the group with just one match to go.
Their previous clash against DR Congo saw them clinching a convincing win, by a 2-0 scoreline, at the end of the ninety minutes. The Egyptians broke the deadlock, twenty-five minutes into the first half, through Ahmed Elmohamady who took advantage of a defensive lapse in the penalty area to slot the ball home.
The squad got the chance to double their lead two minutes before the break when Trezeguet’s defense-splitting pass found talisman Mo Salah at the edge of the box. Salah controlled the ball with his first touch and chanced a shot at goal with his weaker foot, beating the goalkeeper at his near post to find the back of the net.
Uganda were sharp right from the kick-off in their previous encounter against Zimbabwe and found themselves taking the lead through Emmanuel Okwi who pounced on the rebound, following Chigavo’s initial save.
However, their opponents managed to level the scores five minutes before the interval with Khama Billiat slotting the ball coolly into the back of the net after the defense failed to pick up his run in the box.
The draw has left the squad on second in the table with four points, while a win against the Egyptians on Sunday could potentially hand them a top spot finish.

Sebastien Desbare’s men drew their previous fixture despite getting off to a positive start with 2-0 against DR Congo in their opening game. The home team are by far the toughest opponents in the group, and a win against them is definitely not going to come easy.
We can certainly expect the hosts to register the win and a clean sheet at the last blast of the final whistle.
