Torino vs Parma
Italy Serie A
Date: Monday, 3 May 2021
Kick-Off at 19.45 UK
Venue: Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Turin.
Torino will be looking for salvation points on Monday evening when they host struggling Parma in the last game of Matchday No 34 in Serie A.
The hosts sit right on the brink of the danger area, sharing the last relegation spot with the likes of Cagliari and Benevento. Just two of these three teams will stay in the elite class next season.
Parma have, unfortunately, already been all but relegated. A streak of four straight defeats left them 11 points below the safe zone line.
While they are mathematically still in the competition, it is clear that they will play Serie B football this time next year.
This is why Il Toro see this match as a great chance to pick up the much-needed points, especially knowing they have fixtures against the likes of Milan and Lazio upcoming in the final five rounds.
Torino vs Parma Head-to-head
- Torino will, however, play against the tradition here. They only won 5 of 27 meetings with Crociati who managed as many as 15 wins in 27 encounters against Il Toro.
- On a more positive note for the hosts, they did produce one of the best performances of the season just against Parma, beating them 0-3 in early-January this year at Stadio Ennio Tardini.
Torino vs Parma Prediction
Parma gave up the battle for avoiding the drop to Serie B a while ago. They did not play defence at all in the last couple of months. I Crociati thus shipped three or more goals in each of the last four league outings. They took only one point from the last six Serie A games.
It is a devastating record if we know they’ve played the likes of Genoa, Benevento, Cagliari, and Crotone along the way. The mere fact that Roberto D’Aversa’s troops allowed four goals in each of the recent defeats to Cagliari and Crotone should say enough about their defensive displays.
This will be the music to the ears of Andrea Belotti and Antonio Sanabria who are expected to lead Torino’s line on Monday.
Looking at the odds for the goalscorer market, the value is better with Sanabria to score anytime at 1.80 since the 25-year-old Paraguayan forward notched five goals in nine appearances for Il Toro in the second half of the season. The home win is obviously a massive banker at the 1.57 odds.
