SPAL vs Sampdoria: Prediction
The Spalini’s struggles on the road continue as they fell to a 0-1 defeat to AC Milan. With two wins, one draw and seven losses, SPAL are currently 19th in the league, levelled with Brescia and two points above Sampdoria. In order to avoid relegation, they need to make it count at home, especially against similar-rated teams. Luckily for them, they usually perform rather well in their backyard.
Fares, D’Alessandro and Di Francesco are still on the sidelines.
Apparently, Claudio Ranieri and his players did not get the memo that Lecce are not the team to be taken lightly. In a relegation six-pointer, Samp salvaged a point deep into the stoppage time through Gaston Ramirez who came off the bench at half-time. As a result, Samp are still dead last in the Serie A standings with just five points from ten games. The Blucerchiati need to up their game as they’re about to face another team tipped for a relegation scrap.
The visitors will be without injured Seculin.
SPAL have win-draw-loss record of 2-1-2 at Paolo Mazza stadium. That’s not bad considering they hosted three top teams to date – Lazio, Atalanta and Napoli. Leonardo Semplici’s men have an average of 1.40 goals scored per game, whilst conceding 1.60. Four of their five games at this venue had BTTS – Yes.
Sampdoria are dreadful away from home with five losses so far. They have squandered a half-time lead against Bologna in their latest away fixture. The Blucerchiati are scoring 0.60 goals per bout on the road, whilst allowing 2.40. Both teams have scored in 60% of their away games.
I’m positive this won’t be a dull affair. SPAL are dangerous at home, they’ve scored in each of their games at this venue and I’m sure Petagna and Floccari fancy their chances against Samp’s backline.
The guests have improved a little bit since Ranieri took over and I’m positive they have enough firepower to find the back of the net on Monday.
I’ll back both teams to score here and pick the hosts in DNB market.
