SPAL vs Frosinone
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday 28 October 2018
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK/ 15:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Paolo Mazza (Ferrara).
SPAL beat Roma 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend which was arguably the biggest shock of matchday nine.
For starters, they hadn’t beaten the Giallorossi on the road since September 1965 and it marked the first time they had scored two goals and kept a clean sheet away since September 1965.
Now they will get a break as they take on Frosinone, a team who have yet to win a game all season, and even better for SPAL, it’s a home game.
SPAL started the season off well, surprisingly racing to the top of the table but started to slide back down. That was to be expected as no one figured they could keep it up for too long, especially as last season they spent most of the time fighting relegation.
This time around they are much more comfortable, with some distance between themselves and the relegation candidates and they will be looking to exploit Frosinone’s woes to further give themselves some more wiggle room.
As for the Canarini they come into this game having earned a 3-3 draw with Empoli. It was a disappointing result, as Empoli are pretty much in the same boat as them and it was a golden opportunity for them to finally pick up a much needed win in a relegation six-pointer.
With just two points from their opening nine games, it looks like Frosinone is set for a prompt return back to Serie B at the end of this season unless if they can spring to life, and it doesn’t look like that is happening anytime soon.

SPAL vs Frosinone: Prediction
Frosinone have lost all four of their away games and have yet to win a single game this season. They did nearly give Torino a huge scare, but the Granata managed to regain their focus and snatch a 3-2 win, and with SPAL feeling really confident after their shock scalp over Roma, it’s hard to see anything but victory for the hosts in this one.
