South Korea vs Qatar
AFC Asian Cup.
Date: Friday, 25th January 2019.
Kick-Off at 13:00 UK/ 14:00 CET
Venue: Zayed Sports City Stadium (Abu Dhabi).
Both these teams have never lost a game in the tournament and qualified for the Knockout rounds being group champions. Koreans are considered one of the favorites to win this edition of the Asian Cup.
Son Heung-min and company had an easy group stage in the tournament. They kept clean sheets in all those 3 matches. But none of their matches had more than 2.5 goals in total.
The round of 16 matches against Bahrain was the most challenging game so far for the Tigers of Asia. After taking lead in the first half they conceded a goal for the first time in the Cup in the 77th minute. Bahrain was able to see it through to end of normal time. But Kim Jin-Su’s extra-time strike helped the favorites to progress through to this upcoming match.
What makes manager Paulo Bento worried is that their captain is out of form. Son could not show the goal-scoring prowess that he displays at Tottenham for his country.
Qatar has also been unbeaten in their group campaign winning all those 3 matches scoring 2 or more goals. The last match against Iraq was seen as a match between equals. Both sides enjoyed equal possession but a silly mistake by the Iraqi defense helped the side from Qatar to progress. The top scorer Al Moez Ali is in their squad who has already netted 7 goals in 4 matches.
With two of the best teams in the tournament going against each other, we may be in for an entertaining game.
South Korea vs Qatar: Head-to-head (h2h)

South Korea vs Qatar: Prediction
The Tigers have one of the best defenses in Asia, and they have proved it so far in this tournament. Meanwhile, Qatar has already scored 11 goals in their 4 matches till now. But I don’t think we may see attacking tactics from either manager. So a bet can be placed on a final score with less than 2.5 goals, like all previous matches of South Korea, with 1.87 odds.
In terms of rankings, the Koreans outclass their opponents in the quarter-final. Also, they have a score to settle for the loss in their last h2h match against the Maroons. Bento’s side also has the experience from the World Cup as well. So a bet can be placed on South Korea to win with 1.87 odds.
