Smolevichi vs Dinamo Minsk
Belarus – Premier League
Date: 24 April 2020, Friday.
Kick-off at 5 pm UK/ 17:00 Central European Time.
Venue: Haradski Stadium (Barysaw).
Dinamo Minsk will be desperate for a win when they play away to the newly promoted Smolevichi on Friday.
The team from Minsk missed on Europa League qualification berth for the first time since 2012 by finishing 4th in the Belarusian Premier League last season and their start to the new campaign is far from impressing.
Sergei Gurenko’s men kicked off the 2020 campaign on back-to-back away defeats, then bagged a couple of home wins with another defeat sandwiched between them. They will come to Barysaw sitting at 12th on the log.
This is only the second season in Premier League Smolevichi as they were immediately relegated in their previous stint in 2018.
They are on a similar path this time as well, yet managed to salvage three draws out of the five games played, the highlight being a goal-less draw against seasoned campaigners Shakhtyor Soligorsk a fortnight ago.
Still this is a team that need to improve all aspects of their game, especially in front of goal. Two goals scored in the season so far, one of which came as a late penalty in the 1-1 stalemate against fellow promoted side Belshina last week.
Aleksandr Brazevich’s team are sitting at 15th in the table, however a win here could take them level on 6 points with Dinamo.
Smolevichi vs Dinamo Minsk: Head-to-head (h2h)
In 2018 season, Dinamo won both home and away fixture by the similar 2-0 margin.
The teams also met in a double legged cup tie back in 2015, the pair of games also resulting in wins for the team from Minsk.
Both teams are struggling in the new season, however, Dinamo Minsk have a superior squad.
Also, the previous head-to-head meetings have not gone well for the hosts. On top of that, Smolevichi seem to have problems in front of goal and have the tendency to give away far too many scoring chances to their opponents. The under 2.5 goals seen in their 5 league games so far this season is down to pure luck.
Dinamo did find some form in the 2-0 win over Neman last week and they will be confident to see off a newly promoted and unsettled team.
Thus, the away win is a top punt for this game, especially when odds are in the region of 2.00.
Along with that, I will take Over 1.5 goals full-time priced at 1.60 odd as a safe option.
As a correct score bet lover, I will be giving a shot at 0-2 away win priced at a decent 8.50 odd.
