Roma vs Trabzonspor
UEFA Europa Conference League
Date: Thursday, 26 August 2021
Kick-off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Stadio Olimpico.
Roma are from the Serie A, the third-best league in Europe, and they had also won the first leg on the road. Meanwhile, Trabzonspor are from the Turkish Super Lig, ranked outside the top-15 leagues in Europe, and they are also going through a worrying stretch on the road.
Likely, expect a win, and thus qualification to the Conference League for the Italians.
Coached by the Special One – Jose Mourinho, Roma are determined not to lose out on a spot in European competitions. They are just one more win away from making it happen.
They have already won the first leg, and thus have a one-goal surplus. And on top of that, they are at home for the second leg.
Trabzonspor, who have been on a poor spell on the road lately, will have to overturn this deficit, against a team much better in quality.
By all means, expect a win for Roma this Thursday.
Mourinho’s men are on a three-fixture winning streak, and they had also remained unbeaten in 12 of their past 13 games. Note that they had also scored a total of 15 goals from their preceding five matches.
Note that they have also lost just thrice at home since November of 2020, and two of these defeats had come against Napoli, and AC Milan.
Do also note that they had won eight of their last nine appearances at home, and had slotted in a total of 35 goals in the process.
On the other hand, their counterparts were winless in four of their past seven overall fixtures, and they have a total of just two clean sheets from their past 13 matches. And finally, they have won just once on the road since March.
Taking into account these observations, and the result of the first leg, expect a win for Roma.
