Rennes vs Bordeaux
French Ligue 1
Date: Friday, 20 November 2020
Kick off at 18:00 UK/ 19:00 CET
Venue: Roazhon Park (Rennes).
Ligue 1 is back after the international break and we kick off with Rennes and Bordeaux on Friday.
Rennes have been one of the best teams in the league so far although their recent form has not been good with just 1 victory in their last five matches and the club has earned just 5 points from their last available 15.
The home sides last game ended in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of PSG although the last time they were at home they beat Brest 2-1. From their 5 games played at home so far they have lost just once and overall the club are in 3rd place in the league with 18 points. A win would see them go 2nd until Lille play Lorient on Saturday.
Bordeaux come into this game having lost back to back matches and are down in 12th place and currently six points behind their hosts. The club have recorded just 1 win in their last four encounters which came against Nimes. Away from home Bordeaux’s record is poor with 3 defeats from four games played, they haven’t won on the road since August.
Rennes vs Bordeaux: Head to Head
Last season this fixture ended 1-0 to Rennes.
Bordeaux have not won at Roazhon Park in the league since 2013.
The last 7 league meetings have all ended under 2.5 goals.
Rennes vs Bordeaux: Prediction
With victory Bordeaux could climb into the top 10 but this will be a very difficult game for the club. Rennes have been solid at home even if their recent form has taken a dip and we must remember how poor Bordeaux have been on the road.
Also Bordeaux have not performed well at this stadium for some time. This is a fixture that has a history of having a low goal count so that could also be something we can look into.
On the face of it this is a game that should end up with a home victory. Not only do Rennes have more options up front but they have a midfield that should be able to wrestle the game away from Bordeaux and help the team ease to victory.
Rennes vs Bordeaux Bet Tips:
Rennes to beat Bordeaux at 1.91 (10/11)
Under 2.5 goals at 1.62 (8/13).
