Kick-Off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Philips Stadion, Eindhoven.

PSV will try and keep the stellar off-season form going on Saturday when they host Valencia in a high-profile friendly at Philips Stadion.

The Dutch champions have been thriving in the final third lately as they’ll come into this off the back of consecutive demolishing victories over the likes of Galatasaray and Olympiacos Piraeus. The Peasants notched as many as seven goals in the process. Can they keep it going against the Primera Division outfit?

The Bats will certainly represent a much tougher test for the Dutch side, but the hosts should still be in advantage here knowing they began the preparations period much earlier than their rivals.

The Bats only played two games so far in the off-season. They edged past Galatasaray 1-2 last weekend before being held by Swiss Lausanne to a goalless draw on Tuesday.

PSV Eindhoven vs Valencia Head-to-head

PSV have never managed to beat Valencia in the past. Can they do it for the first time in fourth attempt on Saturday?

The Bats won the 2011 pre-season friendly 2-0.

Valencia also came on top 5-3 on aggregate when the two sides met in the last 16 round of the 2011/12 Europa League campaign.

PSV Eindhoven vs Valencia Prediction

Luuk de Jong has been in particularly good touch for PSV lately. The Dutch forward bagged a brace in the 4-0 thumping of Olympiacos Piraeus and he will be the one to watch after against the Bats as well. The visitors are still in the early stage of their preparations period as the head coach Marcelino tends to test some younger players.

Such mixed-up Valencia side failed to break the deadlock in the 90 minutes of play against Lausanne and we can hardly see them getting result against the red-hot PSV here.

The Bats sold right-back Joao Cancelo to Inter this summer (€40m move). They strengthened the defensive line with Mouctar Diakhaby (Lyon’s centre-back) and Cristiano Piccini (Sporting’s right-back). Daniel Wass also arrived from Celta Vigo. Wass and Diakhaby were in action in the 1-2 win over Galatasaray.

Valencia would have been favourites to win in normal circumstances, but we have to fancy PSV based on everything written above.
