Preston North End vs West Ham Predictions and Preview

Preston North End vs West Ham
Club Friendlies
Date: Saturday, 21 July 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00UK
Venue: Deepdale Stadium (Preston).

Preston North End have started the new season well as they built on the wins earned late in Championship campaign and beat both Bamber Bridge and Fylde early in July. They now host West Ham for their Saturday friendly hoping to build on the fine streak and put on another rock-solid challenge, coping with somewhat unpredictable Premier League rivals.

West Ham travel to Deepdale Stadium looking to build on their consistency, having seen a 3-2 loss at Winterthur and only a 0-1 win at Wycombe Wanderers in their last two outings. Manuel Pellegrini arrived from Hebei CFFC in May and now hopes to make an immediate impact in Premier League once again, but obviously has a lot to work on early in the new season.

Hammers have struggled in the attacking third and had troubles outgunning both the Swiss and League One rivals beforehand, which has many believing we’re in for another narrow occasion in Preston. The home side have had somewhat less challenging rivals recently and scored many goals but Alex Neil is in for a tough task this time around.

Preston North End vs West Ham: Head-to-head

The sides have last met in May 2005, when they shared a campaign in Championship.

West Ham have earned a 1-0 win over the rivals in their last head-to-head clash.

Interestingly, they only ended a streak of three losses then, as Preston bagged three wins in two seasons beforehand.

Preston North End vs West Ham: Prediction

We do believe Preston will now have what it takes to hold off West Ham, who obviously still lack playing time and could be out of shape at Deepdale Stadium. They come into the match in great shape at this point and this could prove enough on the day, as we stick our necks out for a Draw.

Nonetheless, we do believe we’ll see goals on both ends and we’ll now also go for a YES on Both teams to score. We’ve seen both sides scoring and conceding goals lately and struggles for consistency could turn this one into a thriller too.
