Preston vs Tottenham
English FA Cup
Date: 28 January 2023, Saturday
Kick-off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Deepdale (Preston).
Tottenham bounced back from successive losses on Monday when they dispatched Fulham in the small London derby at Craven Cottage.
Harry Kane made the difference with a beautiful strike just before the half-time break. It was the 16th Premier League goal of the season for the English talisman.
Kane is expected to lead the line on Saturday evening as well when Tottenham Hotspur travel to Deepdale to take on Preston North End in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The visitors play in higher division and they will go into this tie as pretty big favorites. Antonio Conte did not rotate his squad drastically for the clash against Portsmouth in the previous round of the competition. We can’t thus expect massive changes ahead of this tie either.
Preston hold the 11th position in the Championship standings after 28 rounds of the competition in the second tier.
The Lilywhites are, however, just one point behind sixth-placed Middlesbrough, meaning the promotional playoffs is just around the corner for them.
The problem for Ryan Lowe ahead of this matchup is the fact that Preston allows four goals in the previous home loss to Norwich City two weeks ago.
The Lilywhites did not keep a clean sheet in any of the last three games in all competitions. They are now set to face one of the best attacking lines in the top flight since Spurs managed to bag 40 goals in 21 league affairs so far in the campaign.
