Fulham vs Sheffield Utd Prediction

Fulham host Sheffield United in a low-profile Matchday No 8 clash on Saturday afternoon at Craven Cottage.

The visitors have been the worst team in the Premier League after seven rounds, clinching just one point so far in the season.

It came in a 2-2 home draw with Everton. Sheffield United confirmed the status of the main relegation contenders two weeks ago by suffering a disastrous 0-8 home defeat to Newcastle.

They were completely powerless last weekend, too, failing to create much in the final third in a 0-2 defeat away at West Ham United.

Fulham have also been far from impressive so far in the season but they have at least managed to grab two wins, over Everton and Luton respectively.

The Cottagers are miles away from the form they had in the previous Premier League term, mainly because they are still struggling to adjust to life without Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Marco Silva’s men are finding goals very difficult to come by in the 2023/24 season. They have notched no more than five in the inaugural seven games of the campaign.

Sheffield United have been equally poor in this department, netting league-joint-low five goals in seven matches as well.

These two teams last met each other in the 2021/22 Championship campaign. It was the season in which Fulham got promoted but it was Sheffield United who grabbed two wins in their head to head encounters, without conceding a single goal in the process.

Fulham have a decent home record in this matchup, though, with 7 wins, 3 draws, and 5 defeats in the last 15 clashes with the Blades at Craven Cottage.
