Fulham vs Chelsea Prediction & Match Preview

Fulham and Chelsea will drop the curtain on Matchday No 7 in the top flight of English football with their London derby on Monday evening at Crave Cottage.

The Blues are desperately trying to find a way out of the crisis after failing to find the back of the net in third subsequent league game last weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men fell 0-1 at home to Aston Villa courtesy of numerous missed chances by the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling, as well as Malo Gusto’s careless tackle for the red card in the early stages of the second half.

Sterling, Jackson, Mudryk, and company have serious issues with the lack of confidence these days. Chelsea played well last weekend against Aston Villa all up until Gusto’s red card and they just might turn their fortunes around this time around at Craven Cottage.

The Blues have one win in the inaugural six league rounds. They are looking ahead of a very difficult schedule in the upcoming weeks which is why it would be essential for them to claim a maximum of six points from the next two games against Fulham and Burnley.

Fulham, on the other side, head into this on the back of claiming four points in the previous two league matches.

They have shown fantastic defensive showings along the way, keeping their net untouched against both Luton Town and Crystal Palace. The fact they limited Crystal Palace to just three shots on target last Saturday at Selhurst Park says enough about their strong performance on the occasion.

Latest Meetings

These two teams met each other in a preseason exhibition in July this year as Chelsea picked up a 2-0 victory.

Chelsea have generally dominated this matchup historically, winning 36 and losing only 4 of the last 57 meetings with the Cottagers.

Fulham have failed to score in four of the last five clashes against the Blues.

The Verdict

This match provided a nice chance for Chelsea to rebound from their recent failures and we like the 2.00 odds offered for their win on Monday night.
