Feyenoord vs Celtic Prediction & Match Preview

Feyenoord return to the group phase of the elite continental competition for the first time since the 2017/18 season when they finished last in the section with Manchester City, Napoli, and Shakhtar Donetsk.

The new Dutch champions will start the competition with the home clash against Scottish champions Celtic on Tuesday evening at De Kuip.

Feyenoord got off to a surprisingly slow start to their title-defense quest in the domestic league, claiming just two points from the opening two affairs against Fortuna Sittard and Sparta Rotterdam.

As odd as it sounds, Celtic looked better defensively than offensively in recent league matches as they had shared spoils with St. Johnstone in a goalless draw beforehand as well.

The Scots finished the last season’s group with Real Madrid, RB Leipzig, and Shakhtar Donetsk at the bottom of the standings with two points from six games along the way.

Feyenoord and Celtic have not had an opportunity to meet each other in the past.

We expect an electric atmosphere on Tuesday at De Kuip. Feyenoord are pretty big favorites according to the bookmakers and we expect them to justify the tag with the help of the local crowd in Rotterdam.
