Faroe Islands vs Poland Prediction

Michal Probierz will make his debut at the helm of the Polish national team on Thursday evening when Poland travel to the north of the continent to take on Faroe Islands in Matchday No 7 of the EURO Qualifications.

Poland have been one of the biggest disappointments of the entire qualifying campaign, losing three of the inaugural five outings as the top seeds in Group E.

The Poles decided to part ways with head coach Fernando Santos after such an underwhelming start to the qualifying process. The 0-2 defeat on Albanian soil a month ago was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Poland are now four points shy of section leaders Albania and they just can’t afford a slip up in this affair against the rock-bottomed Faroe Islands.

The Faroese team took a point in the opening fixture of the qualifying campaign in a 1-1 draw away at Moldova.

They’ve lost five games on the spin since, including a friendly match against North Macedonia in March this year.

Faroe Islands have scored only one goal in the process. However, head coach Hakan Ericson can be satisfied with the team’s recent defensive displays because the Faroese team allowed only three goals in the last two defeats to Poland and Moldova which is decent for their standards.
