Peterborough vs Bradford City Prediction & Match Preview

Peterborough vs Bradford City
English FA Cup
Date: Saturday, 1 December 2018
Kick-Off at 15:00 UK / 16:00 CET
Venue: ABAX Stadium (Peterborough).

Peterborough United host Bradford City in the all-League One clash of the FA Cup’s second round on Saturday afternoon at ABAX Stadium. The hosts head into it as heavy favourites based on the form both teams showed so far in the season.

The Posh, who made it all the way to the fourth round last year, hold the 5th place in the division standings. They are genuine promotional contenders after such a bright kick off to the new campaign. They head into this unbeaten in last four games across competitions. It is a run which includes a comfortable 1-3 victory over National League strugglers Bromley away at The H2T Group Stadium in London. Team’s top scorer Matt Godden was the catalyst for the comeback victory by netting a brace, while Joseph Ward bagged the third to set the final score on the occasion.

Godden will no doubts be the main threat to Bradford’s goal here since he notched as many as nine goals so far in the season in League One.

Peterborough vs Bradford City: Head-to-head

The two teams played each other two weeks ago in League One when the Bantams found the way to earn a 1-1 draw at ABAX.

Bradford have always been a tricky opposition to Posh who were on a four-loss thread in H2H games before last season.

Both teams were on the scoreline in all of past three head to head outings.

Peterborough vs Bradford City: Prediction

The Scottish manager David Hopkin obviously needed some time to bed in new arrivals and find the winning formula. He took charge in September, but only began to grab results in November. The Bantams, who still sit at the very foot of the League One ladder, are undefeated in past three matches in all competitions.

They needed penalties to dispatch National League rivals Aldershot Town in the previous round of FA Cup, but weekend’s 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers Oxford United has certainly instilled some confidence into Hopkin’s players ahead of this FA Cup tie.

Peterborough have a deadly line-up of attackers led by Matt Godden, Ivan Toney and Jason Cummings and we expect them to storm past Bradford City on Saturday.
