Nurnberg vs Hertha
Date: Sunday, 20 January 2019
Kick-Off at 14:30 UK / 15:30 CET
Venue: Max-Morlock-Stadion (Nurnberg).
Nurnberg dropped down to the rock-bottom of the standings after a thread of four consecutive defeats in Bundesliga. They will thus have a mountain to climb to prevent it from being only a one-year spell of loan in the top flight of the German football this season. They will begin the year with the home tie against Hertha Berlin on Sunday afternoon at Max-Morlock-Stadion.
The visitors got off to a fine kick off to the new campaign, but their form also saw a slide in December. They took only one point from past three league ties which seriously compromised their push for the European football next term. The Old Lady are now six points shy of sixth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt. Can they get their campaign up and running once again here against the weakest team so far in the season?
Nurnberg vs Hertha: Head-to-head
It’s been three years since these two likes last locked horns prior to their clash at Olympiastadion Berlin in this term of Bundesliga.
Hertha won it 1-0 back in late-August last year.
Hertha, however, have a dismal record in away matches against Der Club (5 wins and 10 defeats in 19 affairs at Max-Morlock-Stadion).
Nurnberg vs Hertha: Prediction
Nurnberg took just one point form past seven league outings. They could not find the back of the net in any of last four and they have league’s second weakest attacking record with just 14 goals scored in 17 ties so far.
Hertha were fairly tough to break down throughout the season, but they conceded as many as seven goals in cast three league affairs against Stuttgart, Augsburg and Bayer Leverkusen. Pal Dardai’s men should have a nice chance to improve their defensive record against the likes of Nurnberg here.
We expect a tight contest to be decided by one or even none goals. Hertha’s clean sheet looks like a value bet at 3.00.
Nurnberg vs Hertha: Bet Tips
