Morocco vs Ivory Coast
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Friday, 28 June 2019
Kick off at 18:00 UK / 19:00 CET
Venue: Al Salam Stadium (Cairo).
Despite enjoying a clear majority in ball possession and making seventeen attempts on goal, Morocco were only able to edge it past their opening opponents Namibia by a single goal.
Both the teams went into the interval, failing to find the back of the net despite conjuring up a few chances at goal. Herve Renard’s men, however, took control of the game right from the restart and kept whipping up problems inside the Namibian half.
Luck finally favored his side when a free kick awarded to them was whipped into the eighteen-yard box and turned in by Itamunua Keimuine, unfortunately into his own net.
Their counterparts, Ivory Coast, saw off South Africa in their opening fixture with a similar scoreline. Although the latter enjoyed better possession of the ball, they disappointingly managed zero shots on target out of their two attempts at goal.
The Elephants were far less careless with the chances that they created, with three out of their nine attempts right on target. The scores were level at the break and it took another 20 minutes after the restart for the deadlock to be finally broken. Max Gradel’s low pass from the left flank found Jonathan Kodija who controlled it with a neat touch before slotting it through the goalkeeper’s legs and into the back of the net.
The squad are currently level on points, and on goal difference, with their counterparts in the table. A win will certainly be the top priority for both the teams as they prepare for their clash on Friday against each other.

Morocco vs Ivory Coast Prediction
Ivory Coast are the likely favorites to win the clash against Morocco on Friday and are likely to go on top of the table with those three points.
Morocco were certainly not shy when it came to creating chances in their previous meeting. However, none of their players managed to find the back of the net in that game and will need to be a lot more lethal and precise when they lock horns with the Elephants.
The latter have lost just one of out their last five matches, and are currently on a three-match winning streak.
Both the teams are likely to score in the clash against each other, while the win is certain to swing in favor of the Ivory Coast at the end of the final whistle.
