Mauritania vs Tunisia
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Tuesday, 2 July 2019
Kick off at 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Suez Stadium.
Tunisia look poised to collect the crucial three points that are up for grabs and could well consign their opponents to a winless maiden African Cup of Nations campaign when the two teams meet on Tuesday.
Mauritania have not been faring well in their maiden African Cup of Nations campaign and are currently at the bottom of the table with just one point under their belt.
Their hopes of making it past the group stages will now rest on their performance in their final game against Tunisia, who will be equally eying the three points to ease the pressure on a top two finish, with Angola breathing down their neck at third.
Corentin Martin’s men were thrashed and brushed aside in their opening game against Mali by a 4-1 score line while they drew against Angola in their second game, with both teams failing to find the back of the net.
The squad have been struggling up front and have managed just one shot on target out of the fourteen attempts that they have made so far. They finished their most recent fixture with zero shots on target, which is far from reassuring a positive outcome for them in their final group clash against Tunisia on Tuesday.
Alain Giresse’s side have been faring slightly better than their counterparts, having drawn against both Mali and Angola by the same 1-1 score line. The squad have failed to keep a clean sheet and have been conceding after the restart in their last two games.
The Tunisians should have the game in the bag on Tuesday if they can ensure that their counterparts do not get their name on the score sheet.

Mauritania vs Tunisia Prediction
Alain Giresses’s men have managed a combined 18 attempts at goal so far out of which four were on target. It is certainly clear that they have been the one with an eye for creating chances in the final third unlike Corentin Martin’s side who finished their last game with zero shots on target despite making seven attempts at goal.
With both teams desperate for the win, the pace of the match is likely to pick up following the restart, while the win is more than likely to swing in favour of the Tunisians at the end of the ninety minutes.
We can also rule out the chances of the clash being a high scoring one, considering that both the teams have not been clinical in finding the back of the net.
