Mauritania were brushed aside with ease in their opening fixture against Mali, with the match ending in a 4-1 scoreline in favour of the latter.
The squad began the first half on a very weak note and found themselves picking the ball from the back of the net seven minutes before the break after Abdoulay Diaby’s sublime effort from outside the box was able to beat Brahim Souleymane.
Their opponents doubled the lead in the last minute of the first half after Souleymane’s rash tackle inside his box forced the referee to point to the spot. Corentin Martins’s side finished the first half with just one attempt at goal, which was not even on target.
His squad further trailed by a goal, ten minutes after the restart and managed a consolation goal in the 72nd minute after the referee awarded a penalty in their favor. Their opponents, however, made up for their momentary lapse in defence and responded with the final nail in the coffin in under two minutes.
Angola came from behind in their opening clash against Tunisia to hold the latter to a 1-1 draw. The Tunisians opened the scoring through Youssef Msakni in the first half and it would have been enough to seal them the victory, had it not been for Djalma Campos’s equalizer in the 73rd minute.
The team are currently third in the group level on points with Tunisia while their counterparts have hit rock bottom with zero points.

Mauritania vs Angola Prediction
Angola are likely to grab the win and the three points when the teams clash against each other on Saturday.
Corentin Martins’s side lost their last two matches by a goal difference of more than 2.5 goals. The squad have been very dismal in their defensive third and are likely to concede a goal or two when they go up against Srdjan Vasiljevic’s side.
The latter are without a loss in their last four matches and have recorded two clean sheets in the process as well. The team have also amassed a total of six goals in those games, while conceding just two, and are more than likely to keep their counterparts from getting their names on the score sheet.
