Macedonia vs Armenia Predictions and Match Preview

Macedonia vs Armenia
UEFA Nations League
Date: Sunday 9th September 2018
Kick off at 17:00 UK/ 18:00 CET
Venue: Philip II Arena (Skopje).

Macedonia won their opening game of the UEFA Nations League on Thursday by beating Gibraltar 2-0. However the result even if it was a win was seen as a poor one. This is because based on rankings Gibraltar are the worst team in the UEFA European co-efficient rankings league. Still a win is a win and it was away from home.

Macedonia have gone their last 6 games undefeated and this includes a superb 1-1 draw against Italy from the back end of last year. This year they have drawn against Finland 0-0 and Azerbaijan 1-1.

Armenia also won their first UEFA Nations League game when they came out narrow 2-1 winners over Liechtenstein. This follows two matches this year where they drew both of them against Moldova and Malta respectively. Both nations are quite equal in quality but Macedonia get the favourites tag with the bookmakers for virtue of being at home and can be backed at even money to get all three points.

Macedonia vs Armenia: Head to Head

  • The last time the nations played here was in 2010 where the match finished in a 2-2 draw.
  • The last 3 meetings has seen both teams to score.
  • Based on results this century there is a 100% success rate to see over 2.5 goals.

Macedonia vs Armenia: Prediction

If the market was available we would go for goals in this match and back over 2.5. This might become available nearer kick off so it would be worth checking. Otherwise our only market is for the win or draw.

Because of this we will stake low money on the full time draw. Both sides are of low quality and have not proven themselves sufficiently enough to say that one side is better than the other. The betting suggests this should be a home win but we think these nations are much closer in quality than that.
