Kukesi of Albania will take on Maltese side Valletta in this Champions League qualifying game. Kukesi has been installed as the favourites not only do they have a better team but they are of course at home and will be expected to take a victory into the 2nd leg which will be more trickier for them.
Kukesi finished their league in 2nd place last season and they lost more games at home than they would have wanted with five defeats from 18 games. But it did get them this far and they will be confident to qualify for the next stages of this competition.
Valletta have improved in recent seasons but have never had the quality to qualify from the qualifiers and play in the Champions League proper and this season looks no different. Their plan has to be to pack the defence and hope for a 0-0 game to take back to Malta. But this game will be very difficult for them and many expect them to lose this first tie.
