Jordan vs Syria
AFC Asian Cup.
Date: Thursday, 10th January 2019.
Kick-Off at 13:30 UK/ 14:30 CET
Venue: Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium (Al Ain).
The Ammonites have taken the Cup by storm. They have outdone Australia in their opener of the AFC Asia Cup 2019.
Jordan are currently 109th in world ranking. But they played much better than what was expected of them against the Socceroos’. A 26th minute strike from Bani Yaseen saw the game through and a great start to the competition.
Coach Vital Brockelmans knows this is not enough and there are many thing sto improve from last games show. As expected, they were poor in keeping possession and gave away a lot of corners. The defence was lucky in some occasions which the Australians failed to take advantage of.
Still they managed to get 6 shots on target and make the keeper work. Also, their keeper Amer Sabbah did a commendable job between the sticks to prevent the strong Kangaroo attack from going in front.
This is their 3rd ever Asia Cup appearance so far and their best performance was the quarter-finals in 2004 and 2011.
Syria had a cold start to the competition with a goalless draw against Palestine. They were playing it cool. But the Palestine keeper had other ideas as his 4 saves were crucial in denying the Syrians 3 points.
Even after Mohammed Saleh of Palestine was sent off, the Syrians did not make use of the numerical advantage. The Assyrians will have to improve fast as only 3 matches remain in the group stage.
This is their 6th time they have qualified for the Asia Cup and still not able to get past the group stages. As of now a bit of luck would be needed for getting into the knockout stages.

Jordan vs Syria: Prediction
The Jordan keeper has been excellent in the last game. His 6 saves held the islanders at bay. Syria is struggling in front of goal too as they have only 4 shots on target so far. I don’t see both these teams scoring as they both are strong defensively. Thus, I recommend to bet on both teams not finding the net with 1.67 odds.
Syria does not look good enough to beat Jordan who are flying high on morale. But a win is necessary for the Syrians considering matches against stronger opposition is yet to come. It may even end as a draw or maybe Jordan gets lucky. So, we can bet on a Double chance for either Jordan to win or the match to end as a draw with 1.60 odd.
Jordan vs Syria: Betting Tips
