The head coach Hajime Moriyasu was especially proud of his men’s dominant display in a 4-3 victory over South American giants Uruguay a month ago. Salzburg’s Takumi Minamino seems to be a perfect match for Moriyasu’s play-maker position in a 4-2-3-1 formation. He notched a brace in the mentioned victory over Uruguay, while striker Yuya Osako was also on the scoreline on the occasion.

All eyes will be on Minamino here as well, especially after the forward completely a hat-trick in a sensation performance against Rosenborg in Europa League last week (2-5 win).

Japan vs Venezuela: Head-to-head

This will only be the fourth head to head encounter between the two teams.

Japan were more successful so far, winning one and drawing two of past three.

The most recent meeting saw a demolishing 3-0 victory for Samurai Blue in September 2014.

Japan vs Venezuela: Prediction

Venezuela played much weaker rivals in their latest friendlies. They lost 4-2 to the Basque Country selection a month ago, but bounced back instantly beating United Arab Emirates 0-2 just days after.

Luis Enrique Del Pino and Andres Fonce were on the scoresheet in the clash played in Barcelona (neutral venue). The head coach Rafael Dudamel is looking at the return of his main star Salomon Rondon to the squad for the final two games of the year against Japan and Iran.

We have reasons to expect a high-scoring contest knowing about Japan’s impressive attacking form coming into this clash with La Vinotinto.
