Jamaica vs Panama Prediction & Match Preview

Jamaica vs Panama
Date: Sunday, 30 June 2019
Kick off at 22:30 UK / 23:30 CET
Venue: Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia).

A win and two draws were enough for Jamaica to scrape through Group C as table toppers and to book their berth in the quarterfinals. Their last clash against Curacao ended in a disappointing draw despite the squad finding an early lead through Shamar Nicholson in the fourteenth minute.

Theodore Whitmore’s side were successful in maintaining the lead at the break and were almost certain to take the win at the last blast of the whistle. However, the squad were taken for a surprise with Jurien Gaari finding the back of the net in the 90+3rd minute.

Panama will be coming into the quarterfinal clash on the back of a 1-0 loss to USA which consigned them to a second place finish in the group.

Both the squads went into the break in the previous game unable to break the deadlock, despite both the teams making a combined fourteen attempts at goal. The Americans started the second half on a much stronger note and were rewarded for their efforts six minutes after the hour mark, with their striker Jozy Altidore slotting the ball home, with an acrobatic effort from close range.

Jamaica vs Panama Head to head (h2h)

  • The teams have met each other on eleven occasions.
  • Jamaica have registered just one win against Panama in their head to head clashes.

  • The scores ended in a tie, in five out of their eleven meetings.

Jamaica vs Panama Prediction

Panama are likely to clinch the victory against the Jamaicans when the teams clash against each other on Sunday at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Apart from the narrow defeat at the hands of USA, Panama posted convincing wins, by a goal difference of two goals, in each of their group stage clashes against Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago

Julio Dely Valdes’s men have found the back of the net six times in their last three games and have conceded just half of what they have scored.

Their counterparts, on the other hand, marched into the quarterfinals with just one win in hand, having drawn on all other occasions. The win against group members Honduras certainly did not come easy, with the match finishing by a tight scoreline of 3-2 at the end of the ninety minutes.

We can certainly bet on Theodore Whitmore’s side to be the ones progressing into the semi-finals, while the clash is unlikely to produce more than three goals at the most.
