Inter Milan produced one of the best overall showings of the season just in the first leg of the last 16 round tie against Eintracht Frankfurt seven days ago at Commerzbank-Arena. Nerazzurri were expected to struggle defensively against a team which won all of six group phase games before storming past Ukrainian giants and regular Champions League contestants Shakhtar Donetsk 6-3 on aggregate.
Luciano Spalletti’s men travelled to Frankfurt in the lowest of spirit after falling 2-1 away at Cagliari. There was also the entire saga around their captain Mauro Icardi who is still not available. Nevertheless, the team showed fantastic chemistry to pull off a strong display and hold free-scoring Eintracht to a goalless draw on the German soil.
Inter backed up such result with an important domestic win over SPAL on Sunday (2-0) and they will come into the reverse fixture much higher on confidence.

Inter Milan vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Prediction
It was a rather disappointing evening or Frankfurt who were not the dominants ide on the pitch last Thursday against Inter. However, Adi Hutter’s men regained the much-needed confidence on Monday night when they stormed past in-form Fortuna Dusseldorf 0-3 on the road to stay within a three-point gap behind RB Leipzig and Borussia Monchengladbach in the battle for the top-four finish in Bundesliga.
Eintracht definitely have more potential going forward with the likes of Sebastien Haller and Luka Jovic who are expected to make the starting line-up here in the absence of Ante Rebic. Haller bagged a late brace after coming on as a substitute in the second half of the mentioned 0p-3 thumping of Fortuna Dusseldorf on Monday and he will be the man to look after here.
However, Inter are a formidable force in front of their fans where they saw off Tottenham 2-1 and held Barcelona to a 1-1 draw in Champions League this season. We have reasons to expect another close tie which could end without a winner.
