Stoke City have a busy schedule midway through July and they meet Hamburger SV for their Friendly clash in Meppen on Saturday, hoping to bounce back from a 2-0 loss to Bochum just days ago. Gary Rowett has a lot of important choices to make as his men look to lift their spirits ahead of the new campaign, where they look for an immediate return to the Premier League.
Hamburger SV, on the other hand, come into the match in a better shape – after beating both CSKA Moskva and Rapid Wien in their last two outings. They’ve been rock-solid defensively and HSV will hope to show off such a character once again, which promises a great challenge at Hansch-Arena despite no high stakes involved.
Potters have lost some of their main stars this summer and there’s a lot to prove on their end, which could be why Rowett scheduled so many games in a tight window. They’ve found the net three times in a clash against League One rivals Walsall but impressing in the attacking third could be more of a challenge here.
