GIF Sundsvall picked up an important 1-3 victory on Tuesday evening when they dispatched the rock-bottomed Sirius in the first Allsvenskan fixture after the summer break.
The team which barely secured the elite class survival in the previous term climbed up to the sky-high sixth position in the league ladder.
They are as many as 13 points above the red zone (positions currently held by the likes of Dalkurd and Sirius) and they’ll generally head into the weekend’s clash with Hacken high on confidence.
The hosts sit four points below after a rather poor finish to the first part of the season which saw them take no more than one point in three rounds.
Andreas Alm’s men had a semi-success in mid-season friendlies which saw them lose 1-2 to Elfsborg before beating Dalkurd 2-0 on the home patch.
