Greece vs Estonia
UEFA Nations League
Date: Sunday, 18 November 2018
Kick-Off at 19:45 UK / 20:45 CET
Venue: Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis (Athens).
Greece will be looking to finish the UEFA Nations League campaign in style on Sunday evening when they host Estonia at Olympiako Stadio Spyros Louis. It has been a roller-coaster ride for Ethniki so far in the competition as they won and lost two matches apiece before November’s final pair of outings. The 2-0 loss to Finland in the fourth round was a serious blow to team’s ambitions of winning their respective group.
The German manager Michael Skibbe resigned after the loss as Angelos Anastasiadis will make his debut on the Greek bench in November. This will only be his second game in charge and there are no doubts players will be highly motivated to prove they have what it takes to wear the national shirt.
The visitors, on the other side, confirmed the underdogs tag. They took only one point in four games so far. It came only in the fourth round when Estonians somehow managed to hold the likes of Hungary to a 3-3 draw in a six-goal thriller at A. Le Coq Arena.
Greece vs Estonia: Head-to-head
Greece won three and drew two of five head to head encounters with Estonians so far.
Konstantinos Fortounis was the one who made the difference when these two likes met in September on the Estonian soil (0-1).
Blueshirts did not score a single goal in last three meetings with Ethniki.
Greece vs Estonia: Prediction
The hosts should see their strongest squad (except for injured Tasos Donis) feature the match. They are very tough to break down in their own backyard. Ethniki only allowed one goal in last four home games (in friendlies and Nations League).
The Blueshirts will be without their captain Ragnar Klavan as well as important midfielders Mattias Kait (Fulham’s man) and Sergei Mosnikov.
We can hardly see an upset here and we’ll back Greeks to dominate the pitch from the get go and pick up a comfortable clean sheet win here.
