Ghana vs Tunisia
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Monday, 8 July 2019
Kick off 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Ismailia Stadium (Ismailia).
With both Cameroon and Ghana managing five points apiece in their group, it was Ghana’s goal difference that settled the matters, and the latter progressed as the table toppers. James Kwesi Appiah’s men registered their first win of the campaign, in their final game against Guinea-Bissau, with the scoreline reading 2-0 at the end of the ninety minutes.
The squad broke the deadlock, a minute after the restart in that game, through Jordan Ayew and doubled their lead, ten minutes after the hour mark, with Thomas finding the back of the net. They certainly outplayed their opponents in almost every aspect and finished the game with fifteen attempts at goal out of which five were on target.
Tunisia managed to book their berth in the round of sixteen without winning a single game in the group stage. Their final game against Mauritania ended in a stalemate with both teams failing to get their names on the scoresheet.
Alain Giresse’s side certainly enjoyed the lion’s share of possession in that fixture but failed to get the ball past the goalkeeper, despite three of their shots being on target.
The winners will be setting up a quarterfinal clash with the team that comes out on top in the round of sixteen game between Madagascar and DR Congo.

Ghana vs Tunisia Prediction
Tunisia are unlikely to be the ones to come away with the win, when the squads clash against each other, on Monday, for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Despite getting off to a frustrating start, and enduring an even more frustrating second-round game, Ghana finally got off to winning ways in their final group fixture. The squad have also managed to score four goals to their name so far and have also recorded a clean sheet as well.
Their foes, on the other hand, have drawn all three of their group fixtures and have conceded as many goals as they have scored.
The squad failed to find the back of the net in their last fixture and so the pressure is definitely on them to turn things around.
Considering that both sides have scored in two of their last three games, we can certainly expect them to get their names on the scoresheet in their clash on Monday. However, the game is likely to swing in favor of Ghana at the last blast of the final whistle.
