Georgia vs Switzerland
Europe – Euro Qualifiers
Date: Saturday, 23rd March 2019
Kick-off at 14.00 UK/ 15.00 CET
Venue: Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena (Tbilisi).
Even the presence of Belgium in their mix did not prevent Switzerland from becoming group champion and qualifying for the final stages of the UEFA Nations League. The faced a single loss in the competition, against Belgium, on the road. The scoreline was 2-1 then. But the manner in which they avenged it deserves praise.
In a virtual final between the two teams, the return fixture for the earlier tie, and coincidentally the last one in the group stage – the Swiss managed to score five goals against Belgium, in return for just two.
Georgia rightfully was included in League D of the Nations League and was pitted with the likes of Latvia, Andorra etc, minnows of world football. They don’t stand much chance against a participant and group winner of League A.
Georgia vs Switzerland Head-to-head (h2h)
- The teams have met twice in the last 20 years.
- The Swiss managed to stay unbeaten in both ties.

- One of the games was a goalless draw, while the other was a 4-1 win for the Swiss.
Georgia vs Switzerland Prediction
The difference in quality between these teams is huge in magnitude. Switzerland topped their group in League A, and qualified for the semifinals of the Nations League, while Georgia was part of the bottom-most League D.
The inclusion in League D, along with the likes of Latvia, Andorra etc have definitely painted an unreal picture about the team. It’s been quite some time since Georgia took on a marginally good opponent, and for their opener, they are pitted against the Swiss.
The game is going to be a reality check for the hosts, and the fast-paced Swiss will be running circles around the Georgian defense.
Expect the visitors, who have dealt with teams much higher in quality, and in much more high-pressure situations, recently, to cleanly take the three points this Friday.
