Forest Green vs Tranmere Rovers
England League 2 Play-off
Date: Monday, 13 May 2019
Kick-off at 19:45 UK/ 20:45 CET
The New Lawn, Nailsworth.
Tranmere carry a slender 1-0 lead as they travel to Nailsworth for the second leg play-off semifinal clash against Forest Green.
The team managed by Micky Mellon showed great attacking intent in the first leg and should have finished the game with a healthy lead if not for some poor finishing.
The Whites were also aided by the sending off of Forest midfielder Gavin Gunning and had a man advantage over 75 minutes.
Coming back to Monday’s fixture at the New Lawn in Nailsworth, the match is perfectly poised, with either side walking into the pitch with equal chance of making the final in Wembley.
The Green Devils do not have the best home record and I assume they start on the backfoot this Monday.
Forest Green vs Tranmere Rovers: Head-to-head
Last week’s 1-0 win at Prenton Park is Tranmere’s first win over Forest Green in any competition since 2015.
The Greens won previous 4 on the bounce and drew 2 before that.
Forest Green won the two league clashes earlier this season 3-1 at the New Lawn and 1-0 at Prenton Park.
Tranmere managed to score at least once in all of their previous three visits to the New Lawn.
Forest Green vs Tranmere Rovers: Predictions
The Green Devils are not a reliable home side and this gives Tranmere Rovers a better chance to progress to the play-off finals. On top of that, the hosts must overturn a deficit, which make us believe that they will give ample chances to the visitors to counter attack.
Therefore, I can see this match produce goals, this could have happened in the first leg itself, if not for poor finishing. This is the main reason for me to go with both teams to score as the top option for this game. While, Tranmere to qualify priced at 1.55 odd as a decent alternate.
