Egypt vs South Africa
Africa Cup of Nations
Date: Saturday, 6 July 2019
Kick off 20:00 UK / 21:00 CET
Venue: Cairo International Stadium (Cairo).
The hosts are certainly the front runners in the competition and have marched on to the round of sixteen in a very convincing fashion. The squad are undefeated in the campaign so far and posted a 2-0 win against Uganda in their final group clash.
The Egyptians put the game to bed before the teams headed for the break with Mo Salah breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute and Ahmed Elmohamady grabbing the second in the stoppage stage of the first half. The squad made fewer attempts at goal, than their counterparts, but were a lot less wasteful of the opportunities that came their way.
The South Africans narrowly made it past the group stages, having lost two out of their last three matches in the previous round. The squad will be coming into the tie, against the home side, on the back of a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Morocco.
Despite enjoying far less time on the ball, they kept their opponents at bay for a good part of that match. However, they let the game slip from under their nose in the dying minutes of regulation time with Moubarak Boussoufa netting the decider.
The winners of the clash will set up a quarterfinal meeting with the team that comes out on top in the round of sixteen game between Nigeria and Cameroon.

Egypt vs South Africa Prediction
The home team are likely to extend their stellar run of form and walk away with the win when they clash with South Africa in the round of sixteen on Saturday.
The Egyptians have scored a total of five goals so far and are yet to concede a single one in their own net. Both Mo Salah and Ahmed Elmohamady have two goals each to their name and are certain to be a threat in the attacking third throughout the ninety minutes.
The South Africans have just one win to their name and have scored just one goal in the competition so far. The squad finished two of their last three games without finding the back of the net and are unlikely to get their name on the scoresheet when they go up against the hosts who have been very efficient at the back.
