Coventry City vs AFC Bournemouth
English Championship
Date: Friday, 2 October 2020
Kick-Off at 19.45 UK
Venue: St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium, Birmingham.
Fourth round of the English Championship is getting opened this Friday in Birmingham. Coventry City are hosts just on paper (their stadium is under construction at the moment) to AFC Bournemouth.
Both sides had a solid start to the new football season considering general ambitions.
The Cherries are just two points away from the leading position, while Coventry are in the middle with four points from three games.
The Sky Blues were involved in high-scoring affair at this stadium two weeks ago, beating QPR 3-2 in one hell of a match.
We are hoping to witness something similar this time as well.
These two teams have met only two times in the past, in season 2012/2013 to be precise when both were members of League One.
Coventry City won both of the encounters without conceding one single goal 2-0 and 1-0.
This info is hardly going to be relevant for Friday’s match though, as many things have changed on both sides.
Despite Coventry’s victory against QPR and a goalless draw against Barnsley last week, they are still regarded as big underdogs in this match priced at 3.50.
This does strike us a surprise, considering the fact this team is undefeated at home in the last 15 matches across all competitions.
Even the only loss of the season to Bristol City was narrow 1-2. 29-years old striker Matt Godden had a great season opening by scoring two goals and providing one assist.
AFC Bournemouth definitely have the quality to battle for promotion this season. They have defeated Norwich City, another serious candidate for the top last week at home 1-0.
The most recognizable names are Asmir Begovic and Dominic Solanke, plus a lot of rising stars.
The Cherries are still undefeated, but Coventry shouldn’t be underestimated at home. We feel draw is the best choice for FT market, paired with Both teams to score as secondary tip.
