Costa Rica vs Bermuda
CONCACAF Gold Cup
Date: Friday, 21st June 2019
Kick off at 02:00 UK/ 03:00 CET
Venue: Toyota Stadium (Frisco).
Costa Rica are off to a dream start in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, beating their opening clash opponents Nicaragua in a very convincing fashion.
Three first half goals followed by one more in the second half were more than enough for them to seal the victory against their tame and weak counterparts.
Gustavo Matosas will be hoping that his side can recreate a similar success, when they take on Bermuda on Friday at the Toyota Stadium in the second round of group fixtures.
The latter’s opening fixture, against Haiti, ended in dismay for them after letting a one goal advantage slip from under their nose and consequently being handed a loss at the end of the game.
Kyle Lightbourne’s men, who are debutants in the tournament, cracked under Haiti’s pressure in the second half. They finished the match with merely eight shots, out of which just two were on target.
The squad will have to be a lot less careless and create a lot more chances in the attacking third if they are to seek a much better maiden campaign.
Following the clash on Friday, they will be squaring up against Nicaragua while their counterparts will be taking on Haiti.
Costa Rica vs Bermuda Head to head (h2h)
The teams have never met each other in any competition.
Costa Rica vs Bermuda Prediction
Gustavo Matosas’s side are likely to record back to back wins as they take on Bermuda in their second group clash in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The squad bounced back from a narrow defeat at the hands of Peru in their international friendly and put on a very impressive display of form in their opening Gold Cup fixture against Nicaragua.
Although the squad have just two wins in their last five matches, their current run of form is certainly on the positive side. If they come out on top against the Les Grenadiers, they will certainly be looking at a potential top spot finish in the group.
Bermuda, on the other hand, have managed just one win in their last five away matches. Their recent loss against Haiti could have been avoided if they had been a lot more sound in defence.
The squad will definitely have to be a lot tighter in their defensive third when they clash against Los Ticos, who are quite aggressive and clinical when it comes to coordinating attacks.
Both the teams managed to get their names on the score sheet in their previous matches. The clash between them is also certain to produce more than one goal and we can expect it before teams head for the break.
Costa Rica vs Bermuda Betting tips
Over 1.5 first half goals priced at 1.80 (4/5) odd is worth a good shot.
This is the only useful bet I can recommend, since good markets on Costa Rica as well as goal options are short priced.
