Colon and Newell’s Old Boys are going to face each other in the eighth round of the Argentine Superliga.
Home side hasn’t been performing very well at the start of the season as they’ve booked just one victory so far. Although Leonardo Heredia and the lads have been fairly productive, their defending should have been much tighter as they’ve allowed 11 goals so far.
Colon have been putting fine performances when playing at their ground as they still haven’t suffered a defeat in front of their crowd. However, the hosts should improve their form if they want to climb up to the top half of the table.
Newell’s Old Boys are one point below their rivals, however they managed to book their first victory in the season in the latest round. They’ve been involved in low scoring matches so far and although they’ve been doing well in the back, their attacking line hasn’t produced too many goals.
Omar De Felippe’s side snatched just a point from their three outings so far and they need to try to enter in a series of positive results in order to continue improving their table position.
Very interesting fact is that the hosting team hasn’t booked a victory in head to head clashes of these two sides since 2011.
During that period, Colon have booked one victory more than their rivals and their encounters have mostly been low scoring ones.
We are expecting another tight clash between these two sides and this one is pretty tricky to predict. The hosts will need to wait for the victory as Newell’s Old Boys are capable of remaining undefeated in this one.
Although the hosts have been involved in efficient clashes so far in the season, in this one we shouldn’t expect to see many goals. Just one clash from the last six went over 2.5 margin and in this one, there shouldn’t be more than two goals.
