Chievo vs Bologna
Italian Serie A.
Date: Sunday 11 November 2018
Kick-Off: 14:00 UK,
Venue: Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi (Verona).
Two relegation candidates will be desperate for points as Chievo welcome Bologna on Sunday. The Flying Donkeys are still rooted to the bottom of the table and still have yet to even get to a positive points total, with -1 points as a result of a three point deduction at the start of the season.
Eleven rounds in, and it goes without saying that they are in major trouble. They’ve changed their manager, but nothing has improved under Gian Piero Ventura and they come into this game having lost 2-0 to Sassuolo last weekend.
Bologna, meanwhile, sit in 17th spot and ended up losing to Atlanta last weekend. Before then, the Rossoblu had managed draws against Sassuolo and Torino and more important, in both of those games, his side had scored two goals each. Even during the loss to Atalanta, Bologna had found the back of the net. Remember, this is a side who had not scored until matchday five, when they shocked Roma in a 2-0 win, so the fact that they seem to be regularly netting is a major sign of improvement.
Given that Chievo have shipped 28 goals – the worst of any side in the league – Bologna certainly should be fancying their chances here at putting some distance between themselves and the bottom three. Currently, the visitors sit on nine points, three ahead of Frosinone and Empoli, and naturally, they will want to take advantage of a Chievo side who still yet to find their way in what has been nothing short of a nightmare Serie A campaign so far this year.

Chievo vs Bologna: Prediction
Despite the fact that Bologna have failed to win their last 15 away games – a bad run extending into last season, the Rossoblu should be able to get something out of this game. They did lose to Atalanta last round, but La Dea have been recently roaring to life and before then they’d managed draws against Torino and Sasusolo, and with Bologna finally starting to find the back of the net, they should be able to pick up some much needed points and add more misery to Ventura’s floundering side.
